We work together to challenge and inspire each other. We are inventive and smart, thoughtful and generous. And, we believe in what we do.
Every day we operate by a common set of core values that make the right thing the first thing we do…every time
It's all the little things we do that allow us to give back and make an impact on people's lives. Here are our most recent adventures.
In our first FINDAHOME Auction, Findawayers purchased chairs, bookshelves, and various other furniture/office items no longer in use — resulting in more than $1000 in donations to Fostering Hope and the Cleveland Kids' Book Bank!
We kicked off our holiday season by volunteering with Fostering Hope at their Holiday Gift ‘n Greet events this year. Findawayers showed up for three days of party preparation and celebrations with the kids to show our love this season. A huge thank you to Fostering Hope for having us!
20 high school students from the Boys & Girls Club of America, Cleveland Chapter, came to Findaway to learn more about our company and potential careers paths. We set up eight stations where kids could ask Findawayers questions about their day-to-day and explore opportunities for their futures.
Our Playaway Products Group wrapped up the summer season by refreshing the Community Garden at Fostering Hope. With a little weeding, planting, and pruning, the gardens are ready for the fall season.
We had a unique opportunity to volunteer for the E CITY Program through Youth Opportunities Unlimited! E CITY (Entrepreneurship: Connecting, Inspiring and Teaching Youth) is a curriculum within schools that helps to introduce teens to the process of starting a real business. The students create, design, and develop a business plan for an idea they have on a small (or big) business opportunity. They then compete for the chance to present on the local, state, and national level. Winners at each level receive money for scholarships and seed money to help grow their business. Our team helped students create their presentations and practice their pitches!
We were the first ever business to volunteer as a group for the Cleveland Kids' Book Bank! 7 of us started our day sorting books by genre and audience then boxing them up for delivery to Little Free Libraries.
We wrapped up our holiday season working with Fostering Hope at their annual Holiday Gift 'n Greet party. Findawayers filled stockings, wrapped gifts, set up for the party, and got to be present the day of the big event.
1,738. That's how many books we were able to donate to kids through Fostering Hope in November!
Findawayers working hard to enhance the trails of Cuyahoga Valley National Park!
Dean Skinner, our Chief Creative and Marketing Officer, had one of his paintings selected to be a part of PupArt 2015. His art was auctioned off at the event and all proceeds are used to benefit sick and injured dogs at the Franklin County Dog Shelter.
Our cans have safely arrived at the Greater Cleveland Food Bank! When all was said and done that scale topped off at 1139 pounds of food!
It’s everything we are outside of Findaway that makes us who we are inside of Findaway. Meet some of the Findawayers making it happen every day!
I’m always observant of my surroundings and if something catches my eye I try to document it with photography. Pictures tell stories and I’m always curious to know what’s behind them.
It's easy to see what Findawayers are passionate about in and out of work. The energy that creates is contagious.
Whether it's family, music, painting, acting, fitness, or any other passion, Findawayers are encouraged to explore and share their passions. We care about one another.
I co-founded a nonprofit called Larchmere PorchFest — a neighborhood music festival with 30 bands on 30 porches. As a big fan of music, this is a perfect way to be involved in the local scene and help support musicians.
I'm here because I whistle getting out of my car and at my desk. I'm here because everyone says hello, people listen when you speak, and they respond thoughtfully. I'm here because I've never met so many super intelligent people in one place before.
The Chili Cook-Off is my favorite Findaway tradition. I was actually the one to initiate it in 2008 and was the very first winner. I enjoy tasting everyone’s culinary creations.
I want to put the great books I love in the hands (and EARS) of readers all over the world.
Work with passion. Then it isn’t work, but it is living. Being a Findawayer isn’t a job, but it is what I do each day. Surrounding myself with passionate people creates a positive energy for all.
I allow myself to go on a crazy global adventure at least once a year. To experience random corners of the world, to learn as much as possible, and to embrace the generosity of humanity are the greatest treasures that I can afford.
When I was in flight school in the Navy an instructor told us, “This is the greatest job in the world. If you’re not having fun, you’re not doing right.” I’ll live by that for the rest of my life.
I love to build things. Whether that is digital with computers or analog with wood and steel, making is so much of who I am.
I love photography! I started taking photos on a family vacation and I have become the family photographer! I also help take photos at Findaway events!
